The 2025 KBS Drama Awards was broadcast live on December 31 from KBS Hall in Yeouido, Seoul. The ceremony honored the best dramas and performances of the year, and the weekend family drama “For Eagle Brothers” stood out as the evening’s biggest success. In a historic moment, its lead actors Ahn Jae Wook and Uhm Ji Won jointly received the highest honor of the night, the Grand Prize (Daesang).
The ceremony was hosted by Jang Sung Kyu, Nam Ji Hyun, and Moon Sang Min, who guided viewers through the night’s events. Special stages were delivered by singer Kang Seung Yoon and vocal group Forestella. The event also paid a respectful tribute to the late legendary actor Lee Soon Jae, also the previous year’s Grand Prize winner.
The highlight of the evening came with the announcement of the Grand Prize. Ahn Jae Wook and Uhm Ji Won were honored for their powerful performances in “For Eagle Brothers,” a drama that achieved strong ratings and resonated deeply with viewers throughout the year. The award was presented by actor Choi Soo Jong, who stepped in to honor the legacy of Lee Soon Jae.
In his acceptance speech, Ahn Jae Wook reflected on his long career and the lasting impact of Lee Soon Jae’s words. He shared that the senior actor’s humility made him realize how much more he still had to learn.
Uhm Ji Won tearfully paid tribute to Lee Soon Jae, whom she described as a great teacher.
“For Eagle Brothers” dominated the night beyond the Daesang, taking home a total of 10+ awards.
The ceremony also recognized new and rising talent. Lee Seok Gi, Park Jung Yeon, Shin Seul Ki, and more shared the Best New Actor award. In the child actor categories, Kim Gun Woo and Kim Si Ah won the trophies.
Fan-favorite categories such as the Popularity Award and Best Couple Award were also presented.
Looking ahead, the ceremony offered a preview of what’s to come with a special “2026 KBS Drama Preview” segment. It introduced the upcoming series set to lead the network’s primetime lineup next year.
