aespa Returns with “Dirty Work”, Out This Month

Eight months after their last mini-album, Whiplash (October 2024), aespa will return this month with new music. It was previously confirmed by SM Entertainment that the quartet will make their first comeback of the year in June.

On June 5 at midnight, SM Entertainment dropped an intro teaser for their upcoming release, Dirty Work, on all social media channels.

It is not yet revealed if Dirty Work is a mini-album or a single. The good thing is that it will be available to stream by the end of this month.

While it is their first comeback of 2025, it does not mean that aespa has not been booked and busy. The K-pop girl group concluded their nearly 10-month-long world tour, SYNK: Parallel Line, in March with two-month encore concerts. They also took home the coveted Group of the Year award at the 2025 Billboard Women in Music.

It would not be wrong to say that aespa owned 2024 with two very successful comebacks. Their successful first studio album, Armageddon, released in May 2024, featured hit double title tracks Armageddon and Supernova. aespa won Song, Artist, and Album of the Year awards (Daesangs) at most year-end award ceremonies, including MAMA, MMA, and more.

Their first full-length album, Armageddon, sold 1.15 million copies during the first week and debuted at No. 25 on the US Billboard 200. Their second comeback album of 2024, Whiplash, settled at No.50 on the aforementioned chart and sold over 910K copies in the first week.

After a phenomenal last year, aespa is expected to exceed expectations and deliver more chart-topping hits. While Whiplash and Supernova are still charting, Dirty Work will likely join them in the top ranks on most domestic and international charts.

Meanwhile, aespa will drop their upcoming musical release on June 27, 2025, at 1 PM KST.
