2024 was most definitely aespa’s year, and now fans are looking forward to seeing if they will match their previous success in the new year as well.

The 5-member girl group is all set to kick off 2025 with a new release, and a Billboard HOT 100 debut is firmly in sight.

On Thursday, May 15, JTBC exclusively reported that they will make a comeback with a new album in June. The members are now busy prepping for a new album, fitting in rehearsals and recordings around their packed schedules. Their comeback was later confirmed by SM Entertainment in a phone call with Top Star News.

aespa is set to make a comeback after about eight months since “Whiplash” dropped on October 21, 2025. The album became a million-seller in the first month of release, and debuted at #50 on the Billboard 200.

They are set to make their grand return in June 2025 with their first album of the year. This is the group’s first musical release since what many have called their “golden year.” It was a remarkable year where every single they dropped became an instant chart-topper.

Their viral hits “Supernova,” “Armageddon,” and “Whiplash” not only dominated domestic and international charts but also swept major year-end award shows. “Supernova” emerged as one of the year’s most celebrated tracks.

Now at the peak of their career, experts are looking closely at their summer comeback. This year is shaping up to be a successful one for aespa as they received the “Group of the Year” award at the 2025 Billboard Women in Music. In addition, they wrapped their massive second world tour “SYNK: Parallel Line” with two encore concerts in Seoul on March 15-16. The tour began in Seoul in June 2024 and visited major cities in North America, Europe, Asia, and Australia.

Since their groundbreaking debut in 2020, aespa has forged a bold, intense musical identity. While many groups embraced easy-listening melodies, aespa doubled down on their futuristic, hyper-electronic sound. They are known for their chart-dominating hits, including “Black Mamba,” “Next Level,” “Savage,” “Drama,” “Supernova,” and “Whiplash”.

aespa is one of the few K-pop acts to achieve five consecutive million-sellers. Their previous albums “Whiplash,” “Armageddon,” “Drama,” “Savage,” and “Girls” became million sellers.

Now they will present MYs with another potential successful release in June 2025.
