aespa’s Supernova is on the road to becoming the ‘Song of the Year’!

Supernova recently made history on Melon’s Weekly Chart, spending the most weeks at #1 ever recorded.

The song has maintained its #1 position on Melon and Genie’s weekly charts for an unprecedented 15 consecutive weeks (August 26 – September 1).

Initially released in May as the title track from their first full-length album, Supernova has shattered a 20-year record, becoming the longest-running #1 song since Melon’s inception in 2004.

aespa’s Supernova holds the record with 15 weeks at number one. NewJeans’ Ditto comes in second with 14 weeks at the top, followed by BTS’ Dynamite with 11 weeks. AKMU’s Love Lee takes fourth place with 9 weeks at number one.

It was one of the title tracks from the album which was dropped before the album release on May 13. After the release, it debuted at #50 on the Billboard Global 200 and #23 on the Billboard Global Excl. U.S. charts. In the US, it reached #5 on the Billboard World Digital Song Sales chart.

Not only did Supernova top Melon and Genie’s monthly charts for three straight months (June to August 2024), but their other hits like Armageddon, Live My Life, Drama, and Spicy consistently rank high.

After that, aespa released a Japanese single and kicked off the world tour SYNK: PARALLEL LINE in June. They are set to perform at Melbourne on September 2 followed by Macau (September 21) and Bangkok (September 28-29).
