tvN is starting 2026 with a fresh romantic comedy, “Spring Fever,” set to premiere on January 5. The story follows Yoon Bom, played by Lee Joo Bin, a high school teacher from Seoul who moves to a rural school with a closed-off heart. After going through emotional hardships, she arrives in a quiet town where life is slower and the villagers are curious about the newcomer.
There, she meets Seon Jae Kyu, played by Ahn Bo Hyun, a man with a tough exterior but a warm heart. His unpredictable actions often stir up the village and gradually bring warmth into Yoon Bom’s frozen heart.
The drama also features Cha Seo Won as Choi Yi Jun, an elite lawyer who adds tension and complexity to the romance. Jo Jun Young and Lee Jae In play high school students involved in their own playful rivalry. Veteran actors like Jin Kyung and Bae Jeong Nam appear as teachers and villagers.
On November 27, the first script reading already showed that the cast had great chemistry. Ahn Bo Hyun impressed everyone with his portrayal of Jae Kyu, using his natural Busan accent. Ahn recently won the Best New Actor award for his performance in “Pretty Crazy” at the Blue Dragon Film Awards. He is known for his roles in Yumi’s Cells, Flex X Cop, and See You In My 19th Life.
Lee Joo Bin transformed perfectly into Yoon Bom and captured both her sensitive side and her cold exterior. Lee recently appeared in Twelve, The Divorce Insurance, Queen of Tears, and more.
Their on-screen chemistry has viewers excited for the romantic and comedic moments to come.
Director Park Won Gook, known for hits like “Marry My Husband”, leads the project, with writer Kim Ah-jung behind the script. The drama, based on the web novel “Spring Fever” by Baek Min-A, combines the charm of a classic romantic comedy with the small-town setting.
The cast has described the drama as fun and heartwarming. Ahn Bo Hyun said it was enjoyable to play his first uncle role and to deliver the dialect lines. Lee Joo Bin highlighted the beautiful village scenery, the witty jokes, and the playful interactions between teachers and students.
Fans can look forward to watching Yoon Bom and Seon Jae Kyu’s romance in “Spring Fever” on January 5.
