ALPHA DRIVE ONE Ranks Second in All-Time K-Pop Debut Sales With ‘Euphoria’

ALPHA DRIVE ONE (ALD1) has made a huge impact right from debut. The rookie group has officially become a million seller with their first album. This is, hands-down, one of the strongest starts in recent K-pop history.

On January 19, Hanteo Chart announced that ALPHA DRIVE ONE’s debut mini album Euphoria recorded 1,441,270 copies in first-week sales.

With this number, the group ranked second for the highest first-week sales ever achieved by a K-pop debut album. They are only behind labelmates ZEROBASEONE, whose debut album sold about 1.82 million copies.

This achievement also placed Euphoria at number one on the list of highest first-week album sales in 2026 so far. The album surpassed releases from other artists, including SEVENTEEN’s DxS, IDID, Apink, CNBLUE, CHUU, JOOHONEY, Heize, and more. Among male groups, ALPHA DRIVE ONE now holds the second-highest first-week debut sales in history, following ZEROBASEONE (1.8 million) and ahead of &TEAM (1.22 million).

The title track “FREAK ALARM” gained attention as soon as it was released on January 12. The song quickly climbed to the top of Bugs’ real-time music chart in South Korea. Overseas, “FREAK ALARM” topped Line Music’s K-pop Top 100 in Japan, Rakuten Music’s real-time ranking, and Japan’s iTunes K-pop Top Songs chart.

The pre-release track “Formula” played a major role in building hype even before the official debut. Released on December 3, the song ranked third on both Melon and Genie’s latest charts.

It also entered the iTunes Top Songs chart in eight different countries. “Formula” reached number one in Indonesia and Thailand, number two in the Philippines, and number three in Vietnam.

All six tracks from Euphoria entered the Melon Top 100 chart, which is very rare for a newly debuted group. The album also passed one million streams on Melon quickly after the release.

ALD1 is Mnet’s global survival show Boys II Planet, which aired from July to September 2025. The eight members were chosen entirely through global voting, and their fandom is officially known as ALLYZ.

The group is managed by WAKEONE Entertainment and consists of eight multinational members. Sangwon, who ranked first on Boys II Planet, leads the lineup. He is known as the group’s center and was previously a trainee under HYBE and BIGHIT MUSIC as part of Trainee A.

Other members include Zhou Anxin, Xinlong, Kim Geonwoo, Arno, Leo, Sanghyeon, and Kim Junseo.

Following their debut, ALPHA DRIVE ONE has stayed extremely active. They began promotions immediately with music shows, variety programs, and radio appearances. In China, the group partnered with QQ Music to hold large-scale pop-up events in cities such as Shanghai, Beijing, and Guangzhou. Before their official debut, the group also performed “Formula” at the 2025 MAMA Awards in November.
