KPop Demon Hunters duo Arden Cho and Ahn Hyo Seop made their first-ever joint interview appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on Monday, January 12, 2026. The episode aired at 11:35 PM ET/PT on NBC and is available for streaming on Peacock starting January 13.

The actors promoted the global hit Netflix animated film KPop Demon Hunters, in which they voice the lead characters Rumi (Cho) and Jinu (Ahn). This was not only their first late-night appearance but also their first interview together, nearly half a year after the film’s release.

Despite working on the same movie, this was the second time both actors had met. They also celebrated the recent Double Golden Globe win of the animated film.

KPop Demon Hunters has become Netflix’s most popular English-language film of all time, reaching over 500 million global views since its premiere in June 2025.

During the episode, Cho and Ahn shared insights about their characters and the creative process behind bringing them to life. They also discussed the film’s global appeal and how its story and music have connected with audiences worldwide.

Ardon revealed that she auditioned for Celine in August 2022 by sending a voice note, and then a year later, she was approached to voice Rumi.

Ahn Hyo Seop thought the film was going to be “very interesting or weird” when hearing the title. The 30-year-old actor added, “I have never seen K-pop and demon hunting at the same time.” After reading the script, he found the film “Very fun” and “very playful” with a “very good message.”

He also shared his thoughts on playing Jinu of the demon boy group, SAJA Boys, “I just thought Jinu was more human than demon, he just made the wrong mistake at the wrong time.”

In addition, Arden Cho revealed that she had a “two-hour phone conversation” with Linda Larkin, the voice of Princess Jasmine in Aladdin after the movie came out.

Ahn Hyo Seop revealed the reason for doing the “Free” cover, citing, “I wanted to sing in the movie.” Arden Cho shared that Cha Eunwoo approached her for the “Free” cover and she immediately said yes.

The episode also featured other guests, including actress and comedian Kristen Wiig, actor Ashton Kutcher, and a musical performance by Ty Meyers.

Arden Cho, a Korean-American actor born in Texas, and Ahn Hyo-seop, a Korean-Canadian actor born in Seoul and raised in Toronto, have both gained recognition for their versatile performances.
