BABYMONSTER ‘CHOOM’ 3rd Mini Album Announced – May 2026 Release

BABYMONSTER

BABYMONSTER is gearing up for a busy 2026 with an upcoming comeback and massive world tour. YG Entertainment founder Yang Hyun Suk revealed the group’s packed schedule for the coming months in a YouTube announcement video on March 4.

On March 30 at midnight, YG dropped the first teaser for the third mini-album “CHOOM” on social media. The septet will release their third mini album ‘CHOOM’ on May 4 at 6 p.m.

Previously, Yang described the project as something completely fresh. He shared that it has “a slight edge and coolness” that fans haven’t heard from BABYMONSTER before. The title track shares the album’s name, with ‘CHOOM’ meaning “dance” in Korean. A second single will follow after the album’s release.

The group is also preparing a full-length album targeted for October 2026. BABYMONSTER is coming off the high-energy WE GO UP (their second mini album from October 2025) and the massive success of their debut full album DRIP. Their 2nd EP WE GO UP recorded 550K+ sales in the first week of sales.

The girls have been busy since their last mini. Their first world tour, “HELLO MONSTERS” (and the follow-up “LOVE MONSTERS” fan concerts in Asia) sold out arenas and pulled in hundreds of thousands of fans.

Earlier this month, YG announced stops for their 2026-2027 world tour. No dates are announced yet; BABYMONSTER will hold concerts in five continents, including Oceania, Asia, Europe, North America, and South America.

Of course, the biggest question on everyone’s mind is Rami. The main vocalist has been on hiatus since May 2025 to focus on her health and the CHOOM announcement didn’t explicitly confirm her return. In December 2025, BABYMONSTER released the music video for “Supa Dupa Luv,” a b-side track from their second mini album, We Go Up. The “Supa Dupa Luv” music video ended with a mysterious young girl watching the group through a window.

Fans are full of hope that this was a hint at Rami’s return. However, as of this announcement, YG Entertainment has not officially confirmed when or if she will rejoin activities. BABYMONSTER has been promoted as six members in her absence.

Meanwhile, the ‘CHOOM’ mini album drops in May, followed by the world tour in June and a full album in October.
