On July 9, BTS’s first, tell-all book Beyond the Story: 10-year Record of BTS officially released. BTS army was eagerly anticipating the release of the book where the biggest K-pop group barred all. It is just not another novel that just scratches the surface, instead, filled with hilarious, sad, and shocking moments.

Being disrespected by Seniors and Juniors
The earlier debut years were tough for the BTS members as they were not getting respect from their counterparts despite their hard work. BTS V opened up about an incident where they were mocked by sunbaes and hoobaes during a music show broadcast.
Not only the big names in the industry ignored BTS but also made fun of them for not being nominated for a top award. This incident took a toll on the group members, they got angry and cried on their way home.
US Award Shows
It is no secret how uncomfortable BTS members seem on American award shows. In earlier years, BTS members mentioned that they were not familiar with American music and award ceremonies. Members were nervous and ‘found the interviews and talk shows so difficult’. J-hope mentioned feeling burned out as a result of talk shows, the red carpet, and endless interviews.
Moreover, he said that if it was not for RM, they would have been in huge trouble. Not understanding English was a huge problem for the BTS members at the US award shows.
Kim Naamjoon aka RM stated that it was a gut-wrenching experience for him. At one point, he thought he was going to have a mental breakdown as he was the only member who could communicate in English.
Jin to Quit Music Industry
In 2018, Jin shocked the fandom by revealing that disbandment was on the card for BTS at their peak. In Beyond the Story: 10-Year Record of BTS, Jin revealed that if the group had disbanded, he had no plans to do music or work in the entertainment industry. He shared that he had planned to ‘rest for a bit’ and think about his next venture.
Jimin on Finding His Direction
Being in the BTS was not easy for Jimin, the singer struggled physically and mentally. Due to mental exhaustion, Jimin felt directionless. However, it was ARMY who helped Jimin find his purpose again in life. The BTS star revealed that he would get motivation after seeing the edits fans made to Young Forever.
Initial DNA Melody
The hit BTS song DNA has a huge role to play in putting BTS on the map. For some, the song is every bit perfect, the members revealed that the initial melody was not so great. After hearing the initial melody, the members and the producer Bang PD-Nim agreed to not proceed with it.
However, we are glad that the band proceeded to release the song with some tweaks. This banger song stopped the world and introduced BTS to the world.

Jin revealed that Min Yoongi just ‘eats to live’. Since eating was a hassle for the BTS rapper, he would put chicken, grapes, and bananas into the blender to make a smoothie and drink it. Moreover, if he cooked something, he would dip it in hot or steak sauce.
That’s when Jin decided to take on cooking and cleaning activities. Before the staff was hired, it was Jin who made meals for the members.
Jungkook was Struggling
Jimin confessed that Jungkook was struggling through the course of his career and is not good at sharing his feelings. Further, Jungkook recounted the night they were filming together, he was feeling hopeless and went to drink alone. The BTS maknae set up the camera and started talking to himself and Jimin suddenly appeared.
While both singers do not remember much of what they talked about, however, Jungkook felt pretty moved that Jimin came to comfort him. Moreover, Jimin went on to confess that after learning that Jungkook was struggling, I cried a lot.
The Infamous Dumpling Incident
V opened up about the infamous dumpling incident which led to Jimin and V not talking to each other for two weeks. It has a Hwarang connection, V came to practice with the members after wrapping up the shooting.
He was hungry and ordered dumplings, Jimin told V to eat after practice which resulted in a squabble. After a few days, both singers talked it out over drinks and made up.
