Billboard and Kakao Entertainment Team Up to Propel K-pop’s Global Influence

Billboard and Kakao

On April 17, Billboard’s President Mike Van and Billboard Korea’s CEO Kim Yuna inked a strategic alliance with Kakao Entertainment’s Co-CEOs Ki Su Kweon and Yoon Jung Jang to boost K-pop’s worldwide impact.

That’s a significant first for Billboard headquarters, directly forming an official partnership in the K-pop realm. This collaboration will pave the way for a multifaceted cooperation system involving Billboard, Billboard Korea, and Kakao Entertainment.

Billboard and Kakao Entertainment aim to bring K-pop music and various related content to fans worldwide. They will work together to promote comprehensive marketing and global activities of K-pop artists.

Additionally, they intend to introduce a fresh business model for K-pop by merging Billboard’s extensive data, global media influence, and Kakao Entertainment’s music IP planning, production, and distribution capabilities.

This collaboration is set to help Billboard launch Billboard Korea in June, aiming to expand its music lineup and solidify its presence in the global music industry.
