BLACKPINK’s Rosé has become unstoppable since the release of her pre-release single “APT.” with Bruno Mars.

Released over 3 months ago, the song has shattered records on major platforms including Spotify, YouTube, and more. On January 31, Rosé’s “APT.” surpassed 1 billion views on YouTube, becoming the fastest K-pop MV to hit this significant milestone.

With this achievement, the BLACKPINK vocalist has taken the title from PSY, who was the previous record holder. The entertaining and unique music video for “APT.” reached 1 billion views in only 105 days, outpacing PSY’s “Gangnam Style,” which took 158 days to reach the same milestone.

The fastest K-pop MVs to hit 1 billion views are

  1. Rosé and Bruno Mars’ “APT.” – 105 days (NEW)
  2. PSY’s “Gangnam Style” – 158 days (-1)
  3. BTS’ “Dynamite” – 234 days
  4. BLACKPINK’s “How You Like That” – 503 days
  5. BLACKPINK’s “DDU-DU DDU-DU” – 514 days
  6. BLACKPINK’s “Kill This Love” – 516 days

Notably, it is Rosé’s first MV to surpass 1 billion views, previously the music videos of her bandmates Jennie and Lisa have hit this milestone.

The song now holds two important records, the fastest K-pop song to reach 1 billion views and streams on YouTube and Spotify. It also holds the record for 2nd fastest song to surpass 1 billion streams in Spotify history. Rosé is the first artist to hold both records at the same time.

It is worth noting that it is the fifth fastest MV to reach 1 billion views in YouTube history, only surpassed by

  1. “Hello” – 87 days
  2. “Despacito” – 96 days
  3. “Shape of You” – 97 days
  4. “Mi Gente” – 102 days
