The wait is almost over—BLACKPINK is officially in the final stages of their long-awaited comeback!

BLINKs have been waiting for the quartet to make a group comeback for almost three years now. Members Jisoo, Jennie, Lisa, and Rosé parted ways with YG Entertainment in December 2023 after wrapping up their massively successful tour, Born Pink. After a year and a half of no group activity, BLACKPINK’s return has the music world on hold.

Having said that, fans have some concerns about BLACKPINK’s activities not being promoted enough by YG Entertainment. This is their first musical release in a while, and there is no clarity on the group’s future activities or musical direction.

Nonetheless, BLINKs are ready to support BLACKPINK members who have achieved unprecedented success with their solo endeavors in the past year and a half. After growing as solo performers, they are reuniting once again for group activities.

According to industry insiders, the global superstars finished filming their new music video last week, putting the final touches on what promises to be their most explosive return yet.

What We Know About BLACKPINK Comeback

Here is what we know about the BLACKPINK 2025 comeback so far.

YG’s Yang Hyun Suk Confirmed Song Release in June

Last month, YG’s founder, Yang Hyun Suk, confirmed upcoming plans for BLACKPINK, TREASURE, BABYMONSTER, and a new girl group in an over 8-minute-long video. He confirmed that BLACKPINK is set to release a song in June.

Though they are the most popular group from YG worldwide, he only spent about ten seconds discussing their comeback before switching to the next group.

BLINKs believes it is unfair that their comeback and upcoming world tour are not adequately promoted. Sufficient mainstream promotions are required to sell out stadium-level arenas like Wembley Stadium and Ippodromo Snai La Maura for their world tour, Deadline.

During their Met Gala interviews last month, Rosé, Jennie, and Lisa teased working on new group music. However, they did not spoil any details about the comeback or world tour.

Music Video Filming Wrapped

On June 9, Xport News confirmed that Jisoo, Jennie, Rosé, and Lisa completed filming their upcoming music video in late May. This signals the song is in its final production phase. A few hours after the Xport News report, YG Entertainment broke the silence and confirmed that BLACKPINK began shooting for the MV on June 6. The label stated

We are filming in Korea with famous overseas directors. This will give birth to another iconic music video that encapsulates BLACKPINK’s identity and musical color.

It will be their first group release following the 2nd full-length album, Born Pink, in September 2022.

There is no clarity on whether BLACKPINK will release an album or just a song. Some worry that a grand-scale tour with only one new song might not be enough to sustain the tour’s momentum.

BLACKPINK Tour ‘Deadline‘

The comeback aligns with their 31-date stadium tour, Deadline, which includes stops in Seoul, Los Angeles, London, Bangkok, and more.
