BLACKPINK’s Lisa Faces Criticism for Lip-Syncing at Global Citizen Festival 2024

Lisa of BLACKPINK at Global Citizen Festival 2024

At the Global Citizen Festival 2024, BLACKPINK’s Lisa stirred up quite a bit of controversy when fans noticed she didn’t sing live during her performance. Instead, she relied on a pre-recorded vocal track, which left many feeling disappointed.

Her electrifying nearly 20-minute set at the 2024 Global Citizen Festival was overshadowed by criticism for pre-recorded performance.

On September 28 (local time), Lisa performed 5 songs at the prestigious festival in New York including LALISA, Money, ROCKSTAR, New Woman (ft. Rosalía), and MOONLIT FLOOR (unreleased track).

Throughout her entire performance, she only delivered a few verses live. Fans were disappointed that she was not engaging in the more demanding choreography and still opted not to perform live.

On the other hand, BLINKs and Lilies defended her saying that she has perfect live vocals, sharing videos of her old performance where she is singing live.

Previously, the Money rapper also faced backlash for not singing live during her MTV VMAs performance earlier this month.

On another note, Lisa is set to release her third solo single of the year, MOONLIT FLOOR, on October 3. She is also working on her full-length album in LA, slated to release this year. Last but not least, she is part of the all-women performers’ lineup for the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show, taking place on October 15.
