BLACKPINK’s Lisa is set to take the stage at the Oscars 2025, becoming the first K-pop act to perform at the prestigious ceremony.

This is not the first time the 27-year-old K-pop star has broken barriers. Last year, she became the first female K-pop soloist to perform at the Global Citizen Festival.  Adding to her impressive list of firsts, Lisa was also the first K-pop artist to headline the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show in 2024.

Now, she is set to make history as the first K-pop performer at the 97th Academy Awards. According to the official Academy Awards website, Lisa will make history as the first K-pop singer to perform at the Oscars.

On February 24, it was announced that Lisa, along with collaborators Doja Cat and Raye, would deliver a congratulatory performance. The three artists recently teamed up for the song “Born Again“.

The 2025 Oscars will feature a star-studded lineup of performers delivering special congratulatory performances. Joining Lisa will be renowned artists Ariana Grande, Cynthia Erivo, and Queen Latifah. These talented performers will take the stage to celebrate and honor the achievements of the Oscar nominees.

On another note, the “New Woman” singer made his Hollywood debut this month with HBO’s “The White Lotus”. She will also release her debut studio album “ALTER EGO” this week, on February 28.

Besides that, Lisa along with Jennie will take the stage at Coachella 2025 as a soloist in April. Not to mention, BLACKPINK members are reuniting soon as their world tour has already been announced ahead of the comeback.

Meanwhile, the 97th Academy Awards ceremony will exclusively air live on OCN on March 3 at 9 a.m. The broadcast will be hosted by \ahn Hyunmo, a broadcaster and interpreter, Kim Taehoon, a pop culture columnist, and Lee Kyungmi, a film director.
