One of the most talked-about moments at the 4th Blue Dragon Series Awards, held on July 18, 2025, was an unexpected mix-up during the announcement of the Popularity Award.
While Lee Jun Hyuk was the actual winner, fellow actor Lee Jun Young mistakenly believed his name had been called and went on stage to accept the trophy.
The confusion occurred during the announcement by the MCs, when the similar-sounding names led to a brief misunderstanding. Lee Jun Young confidently walked up to the stage and accepted the award, smiling and waving at the audience, only to later realize the trophy was meant for Lee Jun Hyuk.
As the ceremony was being held, the When Life Gives You Tangerines actor took to Instagram to clarify the situation and issue an apology.
I couldn’t hear well at the venue and ended up making an unbelievable mistake.
To Lee Jun Hyuk sunbaenim
and all of his fans,
I sincerely apologize once again.
Congratulations on your award!
After realizing the mistake, he went over to Lee Jun Hyuk’s table, apologized, gave him a hug, and personally handed over the award.
Both Lee Jun Hyuk and Lee Jun Young were also nominated in acting categories at the 4th Blue Dragon Series Awards. Jun Hyuk was up for Best Actor for his role as Dongjae in The Good or the Bastard. On the other hand, Lee Jun Young was nominated for Best Supporting Actor for his role in Weak Hero Class 2.
However, they did not take home the trophies in their respective categories. Instead, Ju Ji Hoon won Best Actor for his powerful role in The Trauma Code: Heroes on Call, and Lee Kwang Soo claimed the Best Supporting Actor award for his performance in Karma.
The Blue Dragon Series Awards, hosted by Jun Hyun Moo and Yoona, honored excellence in Korean OTT content from popular streaming platforms.
