Global fans are showing massive excitement for BTS’s upcoming album, Arirang. On February 4, Spotify revealed that the group’s fifth full-length album ARIRANG had surpassed three million pre-saves.
The album reached one million pre-saves just two days after pre-saving opened and passed two million by the fourth day. The record for the most pre-saves ever is held by Taylor Swift, at around six million, and fans are eager to see if BTS can break it.
ARIRANG has also topped Spotify’s “Countdown Chart Global” for two consecutive weeks. This chart tracks pre-orders for upcoming albums and singles and shows the high level of interest in BTS’s release. On the chart, the album surpassed upcoming big releases from artists like Bruno Mars (The Romantic), Harry Styles (Kiss All the Time. Disco, Occasionally.), and BLACKPINK (Deadline).
The announcement of the album and the upcoming world tour caused a surge on the fan platform Weverse. Their membership tripled almost overnight. BTS now has more than 32.7 million subscribers on Weverse, the first artist to surpass 30 million members on the platform.
The album will drop on music platforms on March 20, 2026, at 1 p.m. KST. It contains fourteen tracks and is named after the traditional Korean folk song Arirang. The album explores themes of connection, distance, reunion, longing, and love. This will be BTS’s first release as a complete group since 2022’s Proof, following the members’ completion of mandatory military service.
To celebrate their comeback, BTS will hold BTS THE COMEBACK LIVE: ARIRANG on March 21st, a day after the album’s release, at Gwanghwamun Square in Seoul. This will be the first solo concert held at the iconic location, and it will be streamed live in over 190 countries through Netflix.
Following the concert, BTS will begin the Arirang World Tour on April 9 in Goyang, South Korea. The tour will run until March 2027 and will include stops across Asia, North America, Latin America, Europe, and the Middle East.
