BTS J-Hope Celebrates Birthday with Generous 200 Million Won Donation

K-pop superstar J-Hope is celebrating his birthday in a big way – but not just for himself.

The BTS rapper and dancer donated 200 million to celebrate his birthday (February 18). He made a generous donation to ASAN Medical Center in Seoul, and has vowed to make this a yearly tradition.

ASAN Medical Center will utilize his donation to enhance treatment facilities and medical care for children and adolescents. It will also support research into severe and rare incurable diseases affecting young patients.

J-Hope said, “I hope that my donation can bring a small comfort to children who are suffering from pain at this very moment. I sincerely wish for children to have a healthy and hopeful future.”

He continued, “I wanted to give back to the ARMY fans who always show me love and support. I’d like to take this opportunity to thank them again, and I’m deeply moved that I can start a new tradition of annual donations, beginning with this birthday.”

The 31-year-old rapper and songwriter was discharged from the military on October 17, last year. He, now, gears up to make his first solo comeback after military discharge next month.

Besides a solo comeback, J-Hope is set to embark on a solo world tour world tour “HOPE ON THE STAGE”, which kicks off on February 28-March 2. Next, he will perform in several US cities. His tour schedule includes Brooklyn (March 13-14), Chicago (March 17-18), Mexico City (March 22-23), San Antonio (March 26-27), Oakland (March 31-April 1), and Los Angeles (April 4 and 6).
