BTS Jimin’s Like Crazy has now surpassed 900 million streams on Spotify. On February 27, it recorded a total of 901,992,674 streams, with an increase of 2,379,324 streams.
Just 341 days after its release, Like Crazy achieved two impressive records. It became the shortest Korean song on Spotify and the shortest K-pop song as a pure solo without any features to achieve this feat.
Jimin’s title song Like Crazy from his solo album FACE made history by becoming the first Korean solo singer to reach #1 on the global daily top song chart on Spotify right after its release. It topped the global daily Top Songs chart worldwide as a Korean song, not an English song.
Like Crazy became the first Korean solo song to reach number one on the US Billboard main single chart, Hot 100. Not only that, it also made its mark on Spotify’s US daily Top Songs chart, becoming the first Korean song to do so. It stayed on the charts for an astounding 132 days.
It’s still going strong on Spotify Korea, maintaining its first place on the Daily Top Songs chart for a whopping 156 days as of February 28. Not only that, Jimin also topped the Daily Artist chart for an impressive 234 days, setting a record as the first and only solo artist to achieve this.
What’s truly impressive is that Jimin achieved all of this without relying on large-scale advertisements or playlists on global music platforms. He’s created new records and continues to be popular even 11 months after the album’s release. That’s why K-pop fans have given him the nickname ‘ORGANIC KING’.
On another note, Jimin is currently serving as an active duty soldier in the 5th Infantry Division. He’s scheduled to be discharged in June next year.
