BTS’ SUGA To Be Summoned by Police for Drunk Driving Probe

BTS SUGA

SUGA from BTS has been summoned by police for questioning regarding an incident involving an electric scooter.

As per sources on August 11, the police will soon conduct a formal questioning to gather more information about the incident, including how much alcohol he consumed.

SUGA has become the first BTS member to be questioned by the police. Even though he has maintained a clean record for 11 years without any major controversies, he is now in the negative spotlight for being caught driving under the influence and having to face the authorities.

The Haeguem rapper and BIGHIT MUSIC have received public backlash for their initial responses to the incident. Despite his agency, BIGHIT MUSIC, and SUGA himself issuing an apology for riding an ‘electric kickboard’ while drunk on the day the news broke, it has since been revealed that he was actually driving a scooter.

As per an exclusive report by Dispatch, police have confirmed that SUGA’s scooter did not qualify as PM, therefore, he will face the same legal consequences as driving a car under the influence.

Since it has been reportedly established that he was not driving an electric kickboard, it puts him at the risk of an increased sentence

SUGA was involved in a drunk driving incident on August 6 in Seoul’s Yongsan District, where he lost his balance and fell off an electric scooter while intoxicated. Initially, he was only given a breathalyzer test and released. However, he was later booked at Yongsan Police Station on August 7 for drunk driving charges and is expected to face formal questioning.

The exact date of his appearance has yet to be confirmed, as it is still being coordinated with the police, who have not yet officially summoned him.
