Many leading overseas media outlets are sharing their year-end lists of the Best Albums of 2023, and Jungkook, SUGA, and V’s solo albums have made the cut.

BTS members’ incredible work has been recognized by international media in their selections for Album of the Year and Song of the Year.

In the recently published list of The 50 Best Albums of 2023 by Consequence of Sound, an American music media outlet, SUGA, under his stage name Agust D, made the list with his album D-DAY, ranking 27th.

Rolling Stone, an American music media outlet, included SUGA’s D-DAY in their list of The 100 Best Albums of 2023 and ranked it at 69th place. They mentioned that this album is one of the 10 albums that delve into the concept of freedom through its lyrics and music.

V from BTS is getting some well-deserved recognition. Britain’s Timeout ranked V’s first solo album Layover, which was released in September, at the 19th spot in The 30 Best Albums of 2023. The magazine praised V’s performance of the nostalgic, jazzy R&B genre with his husky yet sweet baritone voice.

In addition, Rolling Stone praised V’s song Rainy Days from his solo album Layover. It ranked 58th in The 100 Best Songs of 2023. They mentioned how each member of BTS has their own unique musical style in their solo activities, and V showcased his personality with this song. Rainy Days combines beautiful piano sounds, slow beats, and V’s mesmerizing baritone voice.

UPROXX, an American media outlet, recognized Jungkook’s first solo album GOLDEN, which was released in November, as one of The Best Albums of 2023. They mentioned that Jungkook is not only a member of BTS but also a pop sensation in his own right.

They highlighted songs like the romantic Standing Next to You, the rhythmic 3D (feat. Jack Harlow), and the mournful ballad Hate You, which set the tone for the times. UPROXX went on to call this album a “timeless classic.”

Lastly, Rolling Stone gave Jungkook’s solo single Seven (feat. Latto) a ranking of 99th. They praised Jungkook’s soulful vocals and highlighted how they stand out against the backdrop of the highly variable garage beat.
