ARMYs have been showing their support for the BTS’ SUGA by streaming his songs amidst drunk driving backlash.

After the 31-year-old BTS rapper appeared before police in a drunk driving probe on August 23, fans trended many tags on social media. As soon as showed up for investigation, fans trended hashtags like #SugaStays, #YoongiNeverWalksAlone, and many others.

In addition, they started streaming his songs to show their support. As a result his song The Last, which was released 8 years ago as part of the self-titled mixtape Agust D, topped the US iTunes chart.

That’s not all, his song Polar Night from the album D-DAY reached #1 on the Worldwide iTunes chart. The song was originally released last year, and it is the first time it has topped iTunes.

SUGA was investigated for 3 hours and left the police station around 11 PM. When talking to the press, he repeatedly apologized to the fans for disappointing them and hurting them with their actions.

SUGA was investigated on August 6 for driving an electric scooter under the influence in Seoul. His blood alcohol level was 0.227%, above the 0.08% threshold for license revocation. He is currently serving as a social service agent, allowing him to work a regular schedule. SUGA is set to complete his military service in June next year.
