BTS’s V Conquers iTunes Charts Worldwide with ‘Rainy Days’ and ‘Love Me Again

BTS V in a teaser for 'Love Me Again

On August 10 and 11, 2023, BTS’s V (Kim Taehyung) released his first solo singles—“Love Me Again” and “Rainy Days”—ahead of his full album “Layover.” Both tracks hit No. 1 on iTunes Top Songs charts across multiple countries. “Rainy Days” tops iTunes in over 70 regions while “Love Me Again” leads in more than 35 markets, including major ones like the U.S., U.K., Japan, Germany, and France.

“Rainy Days” blends lo-fi, R&B, and ambient elements, with soft piano and simulated rain sounds. Its mellow arrangement reflects themes of longing and solitude.

“Love Me Again” features minimal instrumentation and husky vocals that convey emotional vulnerability. The two songs reveal contrasting moods while highlighting V’s unique tone and style.

All tracks from “Layover” were produced under the creative direction of ADOR’s Min Hee Jin, known for her work with NewJeans. It tells a connected story with each song featuring its own music video. The full album is scheduled for release on September 8, 2023.

Shortly after the album release next month, V will perform live on Tiny Desk Korea, becoming the first K-pop soloist to appear on the program. Backed by a live band, he will “Love Me Again,” “Slow Dancing,” and “For Us,” on September 14.

Meanwhile, BTS activities are paused as Jin and j-hope enlisted in the military, with SUGA and RM next in line. Members are currently occupied with their solo endeavors as Jungkook, j-hope, Jimin, and SUGA released new solo music this year. After the release of “Layover” next month, Jungkook will drop his first full-length album in November.
