BTS V Visits Former SDT Unit to Attend Junior’s Discharge Ceremony Despite Busy Schedule

BTS member V continues to show loyalty to his military roots, visiting the 2nd Army Corps Special Duty Team (SDT) unit where he previously served, just 40 days after completing his own service.

On July 28, several group photos circulated online and on social media, showing Taehyung in front of the military barracks with dozens of soldiers from his former unit. He was seen wearing sunglasses and making his signature “V” hand sign, standing alongside his juniors.

The visit wasn’t part of an official schedule. Despite a busy international schedule, V traveled from the U.S. to personally attend his junior’s military discharge ceremony.

Fans noticed the photos on online communities and the fan platform Weverse, where the ‘Slow Dancing’ singer himself confirmed the visit by commenting, “My close junior is getting discharged from the military today,” in response to a fan’s post of the image.

On June 10, 2025, V completed his active-duty service with the elite SDT unit and officially concluded his military duties.

He enlisted in December 2023, underwent rigorous physical training, and participated in specialized operations during his service. His unit is known for high standards and intensive missions, and he once showed scars on his back due to intense training.

The visit occurred while V is simultaneously preparing for a busy phase in his entertainment career. Previously, RM and Suga briefly returned to Korea to attend their stylist’s wedding with member j-hope.

Starting in July 2025, members have begun traveling to the United States for music production and tour planning.

After making an appearance at the Celine show in Paris, he headed to LA to join members for the preparations of a BTS album, coming out in spring 2026. In addition, he has hinted at a solo project in August and asked for ARMYs to wait.

Meanwhile, BTS will reunite next year for a comeback album and world tour.
