BTS V’s ‘Layover’ Becomes the Fastest Album by a Kpop Soloist to Surpass 500M Streams

In the realm of K-pop, one name has been making waves and rewriting the record books: V aka Kim Taehyung. With his latest release, Layover, V has achieved a monumental milestone by surpassing 500 million streams on Spotify in lightning speed. 

V’s debut album achieved this remarkable feat of 500M streams in a short period of 32 days. He is the leading K-pop soloist who has set this new record. 

The other albums by Korean soloists who have surpassed 500M Streams on Spotify include Face (58 days), Lalisa (132 days), D-Day (158 days), and D2 (651 days).

That’s not all, Layover by V has broken countless records and debuted at #1 on Circle Monthly Album Charts and became the Best-selling album of 2023 in September on the said charts with 2,017, 123 million copies sold.

More recently, V’s debut album title track, Slow Dancing, won Best Music (Winter) at this year’s TMA. Moreover, he is set to return to TV screens again with a Variety show God of Business Trip Communication: Seojin Edition along with the Jinny’s Kitchen cast.
