Changbin revealed what makes Stray Kids a fan favorite at a press conference held to commemorate the release of their upcoming mini album ROCK-STAR. On November 10, the press conference for ROCK-STAR was attended by the Stray Kids members.
During the press conference, when asked about Stray Kids’ popularity at home and abroad, Changbin expressed his amazement at how fans from distant places follow and enjoy their music during tours. He mentioned that it’s in those moments that he truly realizes their popularity.
Changbin mentioned that while they may feel embarrassed discussing the secret to their popularity, they are grateful that STAYs truly enjoy the stories they write and their unique appearances. He expressed his determination saying, ‘I will continue to write stubborn and upright music.’
Seungmin mentioned that it might feel a bit awkward to say directly, but as a member of Stray Kids, he is grateful for the songs composed by 3RACHA that effectively convey the stories they want to tell while considering the members.
He also mentioned that many members are currently working on new songs, and he believes that fans will have something to look forward to. Seungmin believes that their sincerity is resonating with their fans.
Stray Kids dropped ‘ODDINARY’ and ‘MAXIDENT’ mini albums in 2022, and the regular album ‘★★★★★ (5-STAR)’ in June 2023. They topped the Billboard 200 for the third time, solidifying their position as the leaders of the 4th gen K-pop.
In July, they made history as the first K-pop artists to headline Lollapalooza Paris and won ‘Best K-pop’ at the 2023 MTV Video Music Awards. More recently, they were recognized by the prestigious TIME magazine as next-generation leaders.
