Confidence Queen is a new crime-comedy series that brings the hit Japanese drama The Confidence Man JP into a relevant Korean setting. This adaptation follows a team of swindlers who go after corrupt elites by crafting elaborate cons that are as theatrical as they are dangerous.
Park Min Young leads the cast and Park Hee Soon and Joo Jong Hyuk play the fellow con artists. After the success of Marry My Husband, Amazon Prime Video collaborated with Park Min Young for the platform’s first-ever Korean original.
Confidence Queen will air in early September, and so far, plenty of promotional content and details about the drama have already been revealed.
‘Confidence Queen’ Release Date
Confidence Queen (Korean: 컨피던스 맨 KR) is scheduled to air on September 6, 2025. Produced in collaboration with TME Group, It will air on TV Chosun every weekend at 21:10 KST and will be available for streaming on Coupang Play in South Korea. International viewers in over 240 countries, excluding South Korea and Mainland China, can stream the drama exclusively on Prime Video.
Plot
Set in modern-day Korea, Confidence Queen follows a trio of elite con artists who pull off complex schemes to bring down the wealthy and corrupt. Instead of targeting innocent people, the team sets its sights on powerful individuals who abuse their positions in sectors like real estate, finance, and politics.
Each episode features a new meticulously planned scam against politicians, tycoons, and other figures of unchecked privilege.
Cast and Characters
Park Min Young as Yun Yi Rang
Park Min Young leads the cast as Yun Yi Rang, the mastermind of the con team. Yi Rang is clever, fearless, and endlessly adaptable. She creates full-blown personas for each con, whether she’s posing as a flight attendant, corporate CEO, or grieving widow.
Park Min Young has played a wide range of roles in dramas like Healer, What’s Wrong with Secretary Kim, Her Private Life, and Forecasting Love and Weather, but Confidence Queen is her boldest role yet.
Park Hee Soon as Myung Gu Ho
Park Hee Soon plays Myung Gu Ho, a former gangster who now serves as the team’s tactician. He is in charge of hacking, logistics, and keeping their operations smooth and hidden. Tae Jun is more skeptical and grounded than Ro Sa, often acting as the voice of reason. But he is fully committed to exposing the powerful and keeping the team one step ahead.

Joo Jong Hyuk as James
Joo Jong Hyuk plays the youngest of the trio, James He is the team’s infiltrator, charming, agile, and great at reading people. Whether posing as a personal trainer or a corporate intern, he blends in effortlessly. Joo Jong Hyuk rose to fame with his breakout role in Extraordinary Attorney Woo.

Viewers see Park Min Young transform into various roles into various disguises. The first teaser began with Park’s character saying, ‘Sinners should not go to hell after they die; they deserve hell while living.’ Another standout line from her is ‘I am ingenious sociopath.’
Production Team
Confidence Queen is directed by Nam Ki Hoon, whose past works include Criminal Minds and Voice 3. The script is written by Hong Seung Hyun, whose credits include Cheo Yong and Missing Noir M.
Filming took place between September 2024 and May 2025 in various Korean cities and select overseas locations. The drama consists of 12 episodes and is produced by TME Group in partnership with Amazon. After its premiere on September 6, it will conclude its run on October 12.
