ablume, the new group formed by former FIFTY FIFTY members Aran, Saena, and Sio, is set to partner with producer Ahn Sung Il.
After a highly publicized dispute with their former agency ATTRAKT, the 3-member group is gearing up to make a debut this year.
On February 27, an official from their agency, MASSIVE E&C, revealed to Xports News, “We have signed a one-year producing contract with producer Ahn Sung Il.”
Producer Ahn has been tapped to oversee the production of ablume’s debut album. The decision was made at the request of the group’s members, Aran, Saena, and Sio.
In 2023, FIFTY FIFTY’s Saena, Sio, Aran, and Keena attempted to terminate their exclusive contracts with ATTRAKT, but the court rejected their plea. Since then, Keena has rejoined ATTRAKT, while the remaining members left FIFTY FIFTY to form a new group, ablume, and are now preparing to debut.
Keena along with 4 new members (Chanel Moon, Hana, Yewon, and Athena) re-debuted in September 2024 with album “Love Tune”. After the unprecedented success of their song “Cupid”, fans had high hopes for FIFTY FIFTY, however, the group fell apart and went their separate ways.
As part of their ongoing dispute, ATTRAKT has alleged that The Givers CEO Producer Ahn Sung Il was behind the tampering. The FIFTY FIFTY’s agency is now pursuing legal action, filing a lawsuit against him for damages.
K-pop organizations are also calling for boycott of NewJeans (now rebranded as NJZ) and albume to prevent future tampering attempts.
In August last year, Aran, Sio, and Saena signed with MASSIVE E&C, an IOK Company’s subsidiary, and launched their social media.
The name “ablume” is derived from the German word “blume,” meaning flower. It represents the trio’s growth and development as individual talents come together to create music.
Meanwhile, ablume is gearing up for their debut, slated for the first half of this year.
