Japanese group Cosmosy landed a major deal with Sony Music Korea.

The girl group has inked a landmark deal with Sony Music Korea, a powerhouse among the world’s top three record labels.

On February 3, Sony Music Korea officially confirmed that they had signed a label contract with Cosmosy. The music giant promised to provide full support for the group’s global music endeavors.

Sony Music Korea’s CEO, Joo Young Chan stated, “We recognize Cosmosy’s unique musical color and potential, and we will showcase new charm to listeners around the world.”

An official from Cosmosy’s agency, NTT Docomo Studio&Live, added, “Through our collaboration with Sony Music Korea, we plan to actively support Cosmosy to establish their position as a world-class girl group.”

Their new contract is attracting attention as they venture into the global market via a Korean label rather than a Japanese one.

Cosmosy is a 4-member Japanese girl group consisting of Amei, Kamión, Himesha, and De_Hana. They debuted on December 31st, 2024, with the single “zigy=zigy”.

The group name is inspired by the cosmos flower, which is said to be the first flower created by God. It symbolizes purity and innocence. The added “Y” represents youth and pure love.

Cosmosy kicked off their journey with “zigy=zigy,” a K-pop dance track infused with Afropop beats and traditional oriental vibes. The song’s music video racked up an impressive 10 million views within just two weeks of its release.

With their latest label contract, fans are looking forward to their activities in Korea and on the global stage.
