Netflix Announced Hit Mystery Show Crime Scene Season 6 With New Format

Crime Scene Season 6

Netflix has announced that South Korea’s popular role-playing mystery variety show Crime Scene is returning for a sixth season

The news was confirmed by the giant streaming service on Tuesday, January 13, 2026. Producer Yoon Hyun Joon shared his excitement and explained the themes for the new season.

He said the season will focus on “beginner’s mind” and “evolution.” “It took some time for me to get the courage to do it again,” Yoon admitted. He thanked fans for their support and asked for continued interest in the series.

Crime Scene first premiered in 2014 on JTBC, running for three seasons before moving to other platforms. Season 4, titled Crime Scene Returns, streamed on TVING in 2024, while Season 5, Crime Scene Zero, debuted globally on Netflix in September last year.

The show is known for its high-quality production and immersive role-playing game format, where participants take on roles such as suspects and detectives to solve a fictional murder. Previous seasons even included elaborate sets like a full-scale hospital building and a Han River bridge built specifically for filming.

Yoon Hyun Joon also hinted at potential cast members for Season 6, mentioning actors like Park Jung Min, Choi Dae Hoon, and broadcaster Lee Soo Ji as talents he would like to work with.

The show has also featured celebrities, including K-pop idol An Yujin from IVE, who impressed fans with her sharp deductive skills. While no final cast has been confirmed, fans can expect more details in the coming months.

Season 6 follows the pattern of evolving the format while keeping the core mystery gameplay intact. In previous seasons, new roles and twists were added, such as the “Detective” in Season 2, the “Detective’s Assistant” in Season 3, a full fixed cast in Season 4, and a return to the guest system in Season 5.

With the theme of “evolution” for the new season, the producers aim to innovate while maintaining the elements fans love.

The exact release date for Season 6 has not yet been announced, and details about the episode count, filming schedule, and cast lineup remain under wraps. Netflix and the production company Studio Slam are expected to release more updates in the coming months.
