ENHYPEN’s Jay Opens Up About Co-Writing ‘Sweet Venom’

Jay of Enhypen at the media showcase of Orange Blood

On November 16, ENHYPEN members attended the media showcase of their 5th mini album ORANGE BLOOD. At the press conference, members talked about the comeback and delivered an unforgettable performance.

The media showcase of ENHYPEN’s 5th mini album was held at the Yes24 Live Hall in Gwangjin-gu, Seoul. Following the success of their 4th mini album Dark Blood, ENHYPEN is back once again with ORANGE BLOOD.

ENHYPEN’s talented member Jay opened up about co-writing the title song of ORANGE BLOOD, Sweet Venom

Jay described “Sweet Venom” as a tale of a boy who selflessly sacrifices himself for someone special. When they reunite, the experience is just as thrilling as the first encounter.

However, they come to understand that nothing in this world is eternal, and love should be cherished without regrets, like the concept of “Carpe Diem.” Jay beautifully likened this feeling to the warmth and vibrancy of an orange.

Jay, who contributed to the lyrics of the album’s title track, shared his experience, saying, “I had many opportunities to try writing lyrics, but this time, I thought about the team rather than my personal feelings.”

He continued saying that he carefully considered ENHYPEN’s previous songs to find lyrics that would suit the team.

Sweet Venom is an upbeat and catchy fusion of funk and pop, driven by a groovy bassline. The song beautifully narrates a promise to remain by someone’s side, even if their presence feels like a sweet poison coursing through the body.

Jay, one of the members, actively contributed to the songwriting process, infusing it with his own creative touch.
