Fans Compare Injuries of BTS’ SUGA and SEVENTEEN’s S.Coups After S.Coups’ Military Service Exemption

S.Coups of SEVENTEEN and SUGA and BTS

On March 1, PLEDIS Entertainment confirmed that SEVENTEEN’s S.Coups received military exemption after a physical examination.

After suffering a knee injury in August last year, S.Coups has been on hiatus and did not participate in the comeback activities for SEVENTEENTH HEAVEN. He along with Jenonghan is scheduled to return this month with limited participation in concerts and other group activities.

As the news of his military exemption broke out, netizens brought up SUGA from BTS and started comparing their injuries. Back in November 2020, the Haeguem rapper underwent surgery to repair a torn shoulder labrum.

The tear that SUGA had was connected to an injury he sustained back in 2012. Previously, there were reports that he might get an exemption from military service due to a shoulder injury. However, he was enlisted as a public service worker in September 2023.

Some fans believe that SUGA should have been exempt from military service because of his injury. While some folks opine that since SUGA had surgery three years ago and has fully recovered, therefore, he was fit to complete military service.

On the other hand, S.Coups injured his knee just six months ago and is still going through rehabilitation. It’s unfair to compare their injuries because they are different and have varying levels of severity.
