The hit 2024 SBS drama Flex X Cop is officially returning with a second season, set to air in 2026. Ahn Bo Hyun will once again lead the series as Jin Yi Soo, and this time he will be joined by a welcoming new co-lead, Jung Eun Chae. She steps in as the new female lead of the story after Park Ji Hyun exited due to a scheduling conflict.
On December 3, SBS confirmed that the sequel is already in motion with the same director–writer duo, Kim Jae Hong and Kim Ba Da, returning to shape Season 2.
Season 1 was part of SBS’s popular “cider universe,” known for high-energy, feel-good dramas like Taxi Driver, The Fiery Priest, One Dollar Lawyer, and One The Woman. Flex X Cop stood out with its quirky “FLEX investigation” style.
In the show, Ahn Bo Hyun’s character Jin Yi Soo plays a reckless, fun-loving third-generation chaebol. He accidentally becomes a detective and solves crimes using his wealth, connections, quick thinking, and the variety of skills he picked up while living a flashy lifestyle. The drama quickly built its own fandom around this unique concept, which helped Season 2 get confirmed right after the first season ended in early 2024.
The new season picks up with Jin Yi Soo returning to Gangha Police Station’s Violent Crimes Unit 1 after completing his formal training at the police academy. But his return doesn’t go as smoothly as planned—because a familiar, strict figure from his academy days takes over the team.
Jung Eun Chae joins the cast as Joo Hye-ra, a former ace of the national police counter-terrorism unit. She volunteers to become the new leader of Violent Crimes Unit 1, and immediately becomes Jin Yi Soo’s direct superior.
Her character is described as his “devil instructor” from the academy, someone who once pushed him relentlessly. This storyline also follows the ending of Season 1, where the previous team leader, Lee Gang Hyun, left for training in Los Angeles.
Ahn Bo Hyun’s return as Jin Yi Soo continues the character’s signature style, blinged-out outfits and over-the-top visuals like his now-iconic “tang-hulu hair” that helped make the first season so popular. Viewers are already curious about how he will evolve after his academy training and how his dynamic with Jung Eun Chae’s character will drive the new story.
Jung Eun Chae is known for roles in Pachinko, Jeongnyeon: The Star is Born, Anna, and Your Honor. Ahn Bo Hyun, who plays her partner, rose to fame with roles in Pretty Crazy, Yumi’s Cells, See You in My 19th Life, and more. Ahn will next appear in tvN’s rom-com, Spring Fever, opposite Lee Joo Bin, slated for January 5, 2026.
For viewers who loved watching Jin Yi Soo bend the rules—and his wallet—to take down criminals, Season 2 will be another round of stylish chaos and even bigger entertainment.
