Jisoo has shared a heartbreaking update with fans, revealing that she recently suffered a miscarriage. The former TAHITI member shared the news of her second pregnancy on January 15 and delivered unfortunate news of miscarriage on January 30.
According to her, the miscarriage was due to a dead ovum, also referred to as an anembryonic pregnancy, where a gestational sac is present but the embryo does not develop.
Jisoo shared the joyful news of her second pregnancy on the 15th, only a year after giving birth to her first child, a baby boy.
On January 30, she took to Instagram to deliver the news of the miscarriage, saying, “Mid-January felt incredibly long for me. Since I never considered having an only child, I thought, ‘Why not raise them together?’ Although it’s tough, my child is so precious to me, so I planned to have them in consecutive years. Everything was going as planned.”
Jisoo revealed that she announced her pregnancy after the doctor confirmed that the location and size were perfect.
“Unlike my first pregnancy, various events occurred during my second pregnancy. On my way to the obstetrician for the first time, my mind was filled with thoughts. When I received the hospital treatment, I found out that the bleeding wasn’t a problem. I heard the term ‘missed abortion’ for the first time. The doctor said it was too early to confirm and told me to wait another week”, she added.
The K-pop star concluded by saying, “I felt guilty, responsible, and apologetic. In the end, I had surgery without seeing the baby or the placenta. I hope another beautiful baby angel will come to me someday. Until then, I will exercise hard, eat healthy food, and make my body and mind healthier.”
Jisoo initially rose to fame as a member of TAHITI in 2012, before departing the group in 2017 to pursue a career as a Pilates instructor. She later tied the knot with a non-celebrity in 2021 and welcomed their first child, a son.
