G-Dragon Appointed Special Professor at KAIST

K-pop superstar G-Dragon is set to take on a new role as a special professor at KAIST, one of South Korea’s most prestigious science and technology universities. 

He will bring his creative expertise to the classroom and inspire the next generation of innovators.

Today, the 35-year-old rapper will join a talk show at KAIST’s headquarters in Daejeon, where he’ll be officially appointed as a visiting professor. 

KAIST (Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology) has brought him on board as a special professor to infuse K-content with the latest scientific innovations and technological advancements.

He’ll be sharing his journey and experiences as a K-pop icon with students at KAIST. As a special professor, he’ll be guiding young minds in the Department of Mechanical Engineering for the next two years, until June 2026. Plus, he’s also been named a KAIST Global Ambassador.

KAIST and Galaxy Corporation have set up a new research center within the aforesaid department to explore the fusion of tech and entertainment. They’ll be working on innovative projects that combine digital twin, AI, and metaverse technologies.

On being appointed as a special professor, G-Dragon shared his excitement saying, “It is an honor to become a visiting professor at KAIST, a university that produces scientific geniuses. I look forward to a great synergy, a ‘big bang’, by meeting the best science and technology experts and my entertainment field.”

He went on to mention that there is a growing number of individuals utilizing artificial intelligence in the music industry. Advanced technology enables a broader range of creative possibilities. He expressed his desire to connect more intimately with fans globally using artificial intelligence avatars.

On the work front, G-Dragon is set to have a jam-packed year ahead with his music projects. He’s in the process of creating a new album and aiming for a comeback in the latter half of this year.
