G-Dragon’s ‘Youth is Flower’ Artwork Goes on Auction with a Minimum Bid of $22,540

G-Dragon

Looking to add some art to your wall? G-Dragon’s amazing marker and spray paint art piece, “Youth is Flower,” is up for auction with a starting price of 30 million won ($22,540).

According to the auction house’s website, G-Dragon’s artwork Youth of Flower will be up for auction at the Seoul Auction Contemporary Art Fair on March 29. The piece, created by the talented Big Bang member in 2017, features a marker and spray paint on a steel panel.

Seoul Auction has an impressive lineup for their upcoming event, featuring works by renowned visual artist Lee Bae, famous for his monochrome paintings and charcoal sculptures.

They will also showcase pieces by artist Kim Sunwoo, known for his dodo bird designs. Interestingly, G-Dragon, who is an avid fine art collector, was even recognized by ARTnews as one of the 50 Art Collectors to Watch in 2019.

However, this auction marks the first time that one of the BIGBANG rapper’s own creations, rather than a collaborative piece or an artwork from his collection, will be up for bidding.

Unlike the other artists’ works on the website, G-Dragon’s piece has a “separate inquiry” for its price. Seoul Auction has mentioned that the starting price for the artwork will be 30 million won, and the final winning price will be determined during the auction on March 29 at 3 pm.

Interested individuals can currently view Youth is Flower at Seoul Auction’s Gangnam Center in southern Seoul. It’s an exciting opportunity to see the artwork up close before the auction!
