(G)I-DLE Embroiled in Controversy Over Unpaid Fan Recruitment

(G)I-DLE faced criticism for their fan supporter recruitment announcement and subsequently, Cube Entertainment revised the notice.

On June 17, Cube Entertainment, the agency representing (G)I-DLE, released a notice calling for applications to join the group’s fan support team.

The agency announced that they are scouting for a team of dedicated fan supporters to manage the group’s online presence, fan clubs, and public broadcast sites. The recruitment window opened on June 17 and will continue until the perfect team is assembled.

Fans were furious when they saw the announcement. They criticized the agency for potentially exploiting their fan base by controlling their schedules without regard for time limits and requiring active participation without compensation.

Fans were further upset by the lack of clarity on the rewards or compensation for being a fan supporter of (G)I-DLE. 

Moreover, fans were angered by the restrictions placed on supporter qualifications and fan club activities, as well as the requirement to write a self-introduction letter when applying.

Amid the ongoing criticism, Cube Entertainment made changes to the notice to include the compensation for supporters. It stated that information regarding specific benefits for supporter activities and special perks would be shared exclusively with successful applicants

On another note, (G)I-DLE is gearing up to drop their 7th mini album I SWAY on July 8.
