(G)I-DLE’s Soyeon Fires Back at Cube Entertainment for False Claims Regarding Contract Rap

Soyeon from (G)I-DLE

(G)I-DLE’s leader Soyeon has fired back at Cube Entertainment, accusing the agency of lying about being unaware of her contract rap at a recent Seoul concert.

On August 3, the (G)I-DLE hinted at contract expiration in November during the solo stage of Is this bad b****** number? She added new verses in the rap, Here’s my number, call me if you have a problem / The contract ends in November, who dares to criticize me? / No one can stop me / I don’t care at all / Feel free to come at me.

On the same day, Cube Entertainment swiftly responded stating that members are set to renew contracts together next year.

On August 6, she took to Instagram and openly criticized Cube Entertainment for lying about not being aware of the contract rap.

Soyeon shared she did not makeup lies in her performance, saying, “I do not intentionally lie or do things to hurt someone or wrong actions that prick my conscience. In the performance this time too, I did not write lies nor did I hide it from the company.”

She shared that the company was aware as she had been rehearsing the part for quite some time, “I showed them dozens of times during the rehearsal and it’s a stage that everyone completed together.”

Soyeon further called out Cube Entertainment’s incompetence, saying, “As we’ve been through a lot of things together for more than 10 years, I do not have negative feelings towards the company just from reading articles in the media. However, I think it’s another opportunity to feel our company’s incompetence in responding to any kind of response.”

Fans are hoping that the members make a careful decision as the contract extension negotiations are about to begin.
