Girls’ Generation’s Seohyun to Pursue Solo Activities with New Agency

Seohyun has signed with a new agency after ending her six-year partnership with Namoo Actors last month. The Girls’ Generation member will now manage activities under LEAD Entertainment. 

On May 15, LEAD Entertainment officially announced its signing with Seohyun in an official statement.

“Going forward, we will do our best to ensure that Seohyun, with her diverse and unique charm as an actress, can showcase her abilities to the fullest through various well-made contents in top condition. We promise to give her our unwavering support and full backing in all her future endeavors.”

LEAD Entertainment is a new management company founded by Kim Sun Woo, a seasoned manager, who previously worked at BH Entertainment. BH Entertainment is a notable South Korean entertainment agency established by “Squid Game” actor Lee Byung Hun and his manager.

Seohyun was managed by SM Entertainment until 2017, then joined Sublime Artist Agency for a year. She subsequently partnered with Namoo Actors for six years before parting ways in April 2025.

After debuting as the maknae of Girls’ Generation in 2007, the multi-talented singer evolved into a respected actress. In 2013, She made her acting debut in “Passionate Love,” and later became known for many standout roles.

Seohyun has proven her versatility as an actor with standout roles in “Private Lives,” “Jinxed At First,” “Song of the Bandits,” and more. She recently starred in blockbuster movie “Holy Night: Demon Hunters” alongside Ma Dong Seok and David Lee.

On the work front, Seohyun gears up for her return to Kdramas with “The First Night With The Duke.” The historical drama premiers on June 11 and wraps on July 17. She plays a university student who gets transported into her favorite historical romance novel.

She finds herself inhabiting the body of Cha Seon Chaek, a noblewoman who yearns for a peaceful life. In a surprising turn of events, Cha Seon Chaek spends a night with Lee Beon, the novel’s male lead.
