Kwon Yuri from Girls’ Generation and Ok Taecyeon from 2PM are set to take the stage as hosts of the highly anticipated Asia Star Entertainer Awards 2024 (ASEA 2024).
The ASEA Organizing Committee has announced that Yuri and Taecyeon will be the MCs for the inaugural ASEA 2024 event. This exciting awards ceremony will take place at the ‘K-Arena Yokohama’ in Yokohama, Japan on April 10th.
When Girls’ Generation made their debut in Japan, they received an overwhelmingly positive response. Their 2012 Japanese album, Girls Generation, skyrocketed to the top of the Oricon chart, making them the first Korean girl group to achieve a million-seller status in Japan.
2PM also made a big impact in Japan, leaving their mark with impressive achievements. They sold out tickets for a large-scale tour, dominated the Oricon chart, and even reached the number one spot on the Tower Records sales chart.
Last October, on the occasion of their 15th debut anniversary, they reaffirmed their popularity by performing at the Tokyo Dome in Japan for the first time in 7 years.
The ASEA 2024 stage will be held at K-Arena, which opened in September last year. With a seating capacity of 20,000, it’s the world’s largest concert hall dedicated to music.
Located about 30 minutes from central Tokyo, it’s in a convenient location for fans to attend.
Keep an eye on the official ASEA2024 website, as they will start announcing the artist lineup, award categories, and judging criteria starting February 5.
