Here’s How Stray Kids’ Bang Chan, Han, and Changbin Divide Copyright Royalties

Stray Kids 3RACHA subunit (Bang Chan, Han and Changbin)

Stray Kids’ producing unit 3RACHA, made up of Bang Chan, Han, and Changbin, has long been the creative powerhouse behind the group’s music.

From writing and producing tracks to shaping Stray Kids’ signature sound, the trio plays a central role in the group’s discography. Recently, the group leader Bang Chan revealed how the members handle copyright royalties.

After releasing their new album, KARMA, on August 22, Stray Kids members are guesting on various entertainment shows to promote their new album. To that end, Bang Chan and Changbin appeared on a web show, Miminunu’s Room Analysis, on August 25.

When the host asked them about copyright royalties, Bang Chan shared that when 3RACHA first began making music, they initially considered splitting royalties based on individual contributions. For example, if one member wrote more lyrics or produced more of a track, they would receive a larger share. However, Chan quickly suggested a different approach.

He explained that he felt it didn’t matter who did more or less on a particular song. What mattered most was that they started and finished the creative process together as a team. Because of this, he proposed that they divide royalties evenly among the three members, regardless of who handled specific parts of the work.

His reasoning was simple but impactful:

What’s funny is that we distributed everything very accurately from the very beginning. The numbers were liked based on what I did but I didn’t like that. I mean, we started together, then since we finished together too, it does not matter who did less or who did more. Let’s just split it evenly, so we have been dividing it evenly ever since.

Since their pre-debut days, Bang Chan, Han, and Changbin have been building Stray Kids’ sound side by side. Even as Stray Kids grew into one of the biggest K-pop acts worldwide, 3RACHA’s teamwork remained central to their identity.

From Stray Kids’ very first single, “District 9” in 2018, credits for songwriting and production were all attributed to 3RACHA members. They have continued taking on those roles ever since. According to KOMCA (Korea Music Copyright Association) data, they have authored the vast majority of Stray Kids’ songs, with the only exception being “WOW.”

As of early 2025, Bang Chan had over 212 songs registered under his name, while Changbin and Han also hold more than 100 credits each. Bang Chan has also written and composed music for various artists and soundtracks, including anime (Tower of God), the film Deadpool & Wolverine, and groups such as JO1 and Sky-Hi.

In February 2023, all three members were promoted to full membership in KOMCA. It’s clear: without 3RACHA, Stray Kids would not be the same. They have not only shaped the group’s discography but also helped define what self-produced idols can do in K-pop.

On the work front, Stray Kids concluded their world tour with a closing show in Italy on July 30 and released their album, KARMA, on August 22.
