On May 31, episode 16 of Hyell’s Club with the Lovely Runner actor as a guest was posted on Hyeri’s YouTube channel. The episode has garnered over 1.6 million views within one day.
The Reply 1988 actress mentioned on the show that when she was planning to start Hyells Club, she wanted the first guests to be people who she’s closest to, which happen to be Jisoo and Byeon Woo Seok.
Then the duo had previously worked together in Kdrama Moonshine, that’s how they first became close. Wait, there’s more to the story, Hyeri, Byeon Woo Seok, Park Kyung Hye, and Choi Woo Sung were part of an acting study group led by Director Choi Sung Eun.
The 32-year-old actor admitted that he’s not the one to make friends quickly, however, Hyeri asked her to join the study group. He went on to say, “So I thought, ‘Oh? Should we?” and from then on, we got close rapidly.*
Then, My Roommate is a Gumiho actress added that they used to meet about once a week and learned a lot. They were in the study group right up until just before the filming for Strong Girl Nam Soon began, a project that Byeon Woo Seok was also involved in.
Furthermore, when asked how he felt when he first read the script of Lovely Runner, Byeon Woo Seok mentioned, “I thought I must not miss this because when I read it, the scenes were very vivid in my imagination.”
He shared that he called the agency’s director every day for updates since he was so drawn to the script and did not want to miss out on the opportunity.
On another note, Lovely Runner recently completed its successful run, with the last episode aired on May 28.
