Is BLACKPINK Jennie’s New Diss Track Aimed at Her Former Agency, YG Entertainment?

Jennie for Beats Solo Buds

BLACKPINK’s Jennie is using her music as an outlet to share her feelings and speak her truth.

The You & Me singer is creating quite a stir for her collaboration with Bears By Dre.

On June 20, she released a sneak peek of an untitled song in a Beats Solo Buds commercial. Initially, the lyrics seemed like a typical empowering anthem, but eagle-eyed fans soon discovered that she was throwing shade at her former label, YG Entertainment, and haters in the new snippet.

She slammed haters and seemingly YG in new lyrics,

Taken for granted

Taken as hostage

Carried the baggage

Carried the past us

As luck would have it

Future was written

They did not plan for women to woman up

Jennie’s lyrics reveal a difficult past with YG Entertainment, but also highlight BLACKPINK’s remarkable achievements despite limited releases and group activities.

Fans are convinced that the lyrics of the unreleased song hint at alleged mistreatment of YG.

Previously on Dua Lipa’s podcast, the 28-year-old star expressed feeling limited, not being able to express different sides of herself. One of the reasons she set up her personal label ODD ATELIER (OA) was to express herself more freely and break boundaries.

Jennie is truly breaking boundaries in the music and fashion world after setting up her personal label. She turned heads at Met Gala in a bold outfit and recently made her runway debut.

On the work front, She is set to release her debut album, after nearly 8 years since her debut. Previously, there were reports that she would make a June comeback but the rumors were denied by ODD ATELIER.
