Jeon Jong Seo may be returning to the occult genre.
According to an OSEN report on November 3, Jeon has received an offer to star in the upcoming film “Rock” and is currently positively considering the role. Her agency confirmed the news, saying, “It’s true that she received the script for ‘Rock’ and she is positively reviewing it.”
The film Rock will be produced by Film Moment and Finetown Production, with director Lee Deok Chan leading the project. Lee was previously part of the directing team for Korea Sings and No Tears for the Dead. He also directed short films such as Leo and more.
On top of all, Jang Jae hyun, the acclaimed director behind The Priests, Svaha: The Sixth Finger, and Exhuma, is participating as both co-writer and co-producer. His involvement suggests that Rock could expand on the dark and distinctive “Jang Jae Hyun-style” occult universe that fans have come to recognize.
Jeon Jong Seo made her acting debut in the 2018 film Burning and quickly became known for her bold role choices and strong performances.
She gained major attention for The Call and received the Best Actress at the Baeksang Arts Awards. Since then, she has appeared in a range of projects, including Ballerina, Money Heist: Korea – Joint Economic Area, Queen Woo, and Wedding Impossible.
Before Rock, Jeon Jong Seo is set to appear in her next project, “Project Y”, alongside Han So Hee. The film is a neo-noir, female-led crime drama centered on two friends who plan a gold bar heist to escape their harsh reality. Jeon plays Do-kyung, one of the two leads. Project Y premiered at several international film festivals in September.
