With more than two weeks left until their military discharge, BTS Jimin and Jungkook were spotted at Gimpo International Airport in Seoul. Fans were excited to get an early glimpse of the stars before they officially return to civilian life on June 11, 2025. The duo enlisted together in December 2023 and will be discharged on the same day.
On Saturday, May 23, Jimin was seen departing for abroad, while Jungkook was spotted leaving the country in the early hours of Sunday, May 24. At present, there is no official confirmation regarding their destinations or whether their trips are for vacation or work-related purposes.
Jimin Spotted at the Airport
Jimin was spotted at the Gimpo International Airport with his manager and actor Lee Sae On. After a long absence, fans were thrilled to catch a glimpse of Jimin, who had been relatively low-profile during his military service.
A video surfaced showing a man in a black hoodie, blue jeans, a cap, and a face mask walking at the airport. Although his face was mostly hidden, fans were convinced it was Jimin from BTS due to his gait. When he removed his mask at the airport checkpoint where his ID was verified, he was confirmed to be the “Like Crazy” singer.
Understandably, the video went viral, fueling speculation about potential projects or personal commitments, as he currently serves in the military.
Jungkook Departed From the Gimpo International Airport
Fans were in luck as Jungkook was spotted at Gimpo International Airport on May 24, just a day after Jimin was seen departing abroad. Unlike Jimin, he was frequently spotted dining out with friends, shared updates with fans, and went live on Weverse. Now, Jungkook was spotted days before his discharge on June 11, which fuels fan theories that he is working on solo music.
During his recent sighting, the “Seven” singer sported Mihara Yasuhiro zip-up hoodies, graffiti print sweat shorts, and a Supreme leather shoulder bag. It is not yet confirmed where he is heading and what surprises he has in store for ARMYs waiting all around the world.
While HYBE hasn’t confirmed post-military plans, fans suspect his airport visit is tied to solo preparations. His pre-enlistment banger “Standing Next to You” still charts globally, and ARMYs eagerly await new music.
The word on the street is that Jungkook will embark on a world tour from October 2025 to January 2026. ARMYs are convinced he is going on a solo tour because of his profile on Ticketmaster.
BTS Reunion
All BTS members except Suga will return just in time for their 12th debut anniversary on June 13. There is a possibility that members will take the stage and participate in Festa activities. BTS’ phased return begins with RM and V on June 10, followed by Jungkook and Jimin on June 11, and Suga on June 21.
Earlier this year, HYBE CEO Lee Jae Sang hinted at the BTS comeback happening in 2026 as BTS members will need time for “preparation and deliberation” before resuming activities. During the annual general shareholders’ meeting, he revealed discussing the group’s comeback with top-tier companies and music producers. Meanwhile, members will continue to work on solo endeavors while working on the group comeback.
