Jimin Quietly Donates $72,000 for Student Scholarships in North Jeolla

BTS Jimin in a teaser for MUSE

BTS’s Jimin has once again shown his deep commitment to education and giving back to society. The 29-year-old singer recently donated 100 million won (about $72,000) to the North Jeolla Province Office of Education.

This latest contribution continues his long-running tradition of quietly funding educational initiatives across South Korea.

According to the education office, Jimin’s father personally contacted the acting superintendent in July to share his son’s wishes and confirm the donation.

The money was deposited into the Love Scholarship Foundation account on September 18. At Jimin’s request, there was no ceremony or public event, as he prefers to perform what he calls “silent good deeds.” The funds will be used to help low-income students in the region pursue their studies.

This is not the first time the BTS member has extended such generosity. Since 2019, Jimin has donated 100 million won each to education offices in Busan, South Jeolla Province, Gangwon Province, North Chungcheong Province, and South Gyeongsang Province.

His contributions have funded scholarships for low-income students, school development projects, and book donations. Acting Superintendent of Education Yoo Jeong Gi expressed gratitude, stating:

I’m deeply grateful to Jimin for his warm sharing for the future of children. The donation will be used fairly and transparently to support students studying in difficult environments.

Jimin completed his mandatory military service on June 11, 2025, and expressed appreciation to his fellow soldiers at his discharge. He also promised fans, saying, “We will continue the picture we were drawing.” BTS’s military era officially ended in late June, and now all seven members are now closer to full group activities. They are working on a new album in LA while making solo appearances and continuing other activities.

Last month, Jimin and Song Da Eun dating rumors were reignited when she shared a video of him on TikTok. Later, HYBE confirmed that they once dated but are no longer together.

Meanwhile, fans may see Jimin back in the spotlight at the Dior SS26 show in Paris in the coming days.
