Actor Jo Jung Suk and singer Gummy have welcomed their second child, a baby girl, and become a family of four.
On January 14, Jo’s agency JAM Entertainment confirmed the news through an official statement. The agency added, “Both the mother and baby are currently in good health and are recovering peacefully under the love and care of their family.’ It continued, ‘We ask that you watch over the child with warm support so she can grow up surrounded by much love and blessings.”
The couple married in October 2018 and became parents for the first time in August 2020 with the birth of their daughter Yewon. Now, with the arrival of their second child, Jo Jung Suk and Gummy are raising two daughters together.
The newborn already has a special nickname, “Four-leaf Clover.” This nickname comes from Jo Jung-suk’s personal hobby. He enjoys searching for four-leaf clovers during walks and has said in the past that finding them makes him feel happy and lucky.
He has even gifted pressed four-leaf clovers to friends and colleagues before. The nickname reflects the joy and good fortune the new baby has brought to their family.
Both Jo Jung Suk and Gummy had openly talked about wanting a second child before the birth. In June 2024, the “Hospital Playlist” actor appeared on SBS’s “My Little Old Boy” and shared his feelings about expanding their family. He said, “The moment my wife said, ‘Let’s have a second child,’ I made up my mind right away.” He also revealed that their daughter Yewon wanted a younger sibling.
In July 2024, Gummy also spoke honestly about their plans on the music talk show “The Seasons.” She shared that they were preparing for a second child and said that their goal was to have two children.
At present, both parents are focusing on family time. Jo Jung Suk is taking a break after the release of the blockbuster film, My Daughter is a Zombie, last year.
His agency previously stated that he plans to devote himself to his family for the time being. Gummy has also slowed down her public activities and has not released new music since late 2023. She is expected to focus on recovery and caring for her newborn.
