Jun Ji Hyun, Koo Kyo Hwan, Ji Chang Wook, and Shin Hyun Been In Talks to Star in “Train To Busan” Director’s Next Work

A star-studded cast is being assembled for director Yeon Sang Ho’s Upcoming zombie movie!

As reported by Korean media outlets recently, Jun Ji Hyun, Shin Hyun Been, Ji Chang Wook, Koo Kyo Hwan, and Kim Shin Rok are approached for Yeon Sang Ho’s next film, “Colony” (literal title).

He is known for directing multiple critically acclaimed films including “Peninsula,” “Train to Busan,” and “Seoul Station.”

Jun Ji Hyun’s agency IEUM HASHTAG and Koo Kyo Hwan’s agency Namoo Actors have confirmed receiving the offer for “Colony.” They are positively considering the offer, with an official announcement to be made soon.

In addition, Shin Hyun Been is tapped to work with director Yeon for the fourth time, however, her agency has yet to comment on it.

Likewise, Ji Chang Wook and Kim Shin Rok’s agencies have not confirmed receiving offers for the zombie movie.

After exploring the zombie genre in ‘Kingdom: Ashin of the North,’ Jun Ji Hyun’s appearance in the new zombie movie is highly anticipated. She is currently filming Disney+ series “Tempest.”

Koo Kyo Hwan previously collaborated with director Yeon Sang Ho for “Peninsula,” released in 2021. He has since starred in “D.P.”, “Parasyte: The Gray”, and “Escape.”

Moreover, Shin Hyun Been is set to collaborate with director Yeon for the fourth consecutive project, following their work together on “Monstrous”, “Revelation”, and “The Face”.

Kim Shin Rok, fresh from her success in Yeon’s Netflix series “Hellbound” and its sequel, will reunite with the director.

Ji Chang Wook, acclaimed for his dramatic acting transformations, collaborates with him for the first time.

The movie is already generating a lot of buzz, not just for its star-studded cast, but also for a whopping budget of 20 billion won.

“Colony” is slated for theatrical release, with production beginning next year. Showbox is in talks for investment and distribution.
