Actors Jung Kyung Ho and Jeon Yeo Been may star in a new romantic drama about love in midlife.
On March 4, an official from Jung’s agency confirmed to My Daily about his appearance in the upcoming series tentatively titled “40s Romance.”
Jeon Yeo Been is currently in talks to join as the female lead, though her agency has not yet made an official statement. Filming schedules and broadcast plans are still being finalized.
As the title suggests, the drama follows a man and a woman in their 40s who unexpectedly fall in love, despite believing they are long past being shaken by romance. It tells the story of two people who feel they have never fully experienced love, or even life, until they meet each other.
Jung Kyung Ho will play Na Yi Jun, a star news anchor. Raised in an ordinary middle-class family, Na achieved a perfect score on the college entrance exam and became the youngest anchor in the country’s history. He is flawless and appears to have lived a successful life.
Jung Kyung Ho is known for hit dramas such as Hospital Playlist, Crash Course in Romance, Oh My Ghost Clients, and Pro Bono.
Jeon Yeo Been will play Seo Hae Yoon, a news division writer with over a decade of experience. Seo has worked at various broadcasting stations and earned the nickname “Ssammai writer” due to her focus on ratings-driven, gossipy news. Her short temper and exhaustion from mental exertion have prevented her from engaging with any man for more than half a day.
Jeon Yeo-bin rose to fame with Vincenzo, Ms. Incognito, Our Movie, and Dark Nuns.
The two characters, once professional rivals, team up to revive a struggling broadcast. In the process, they slowly revive each other’s long-dormant romantic feelings.
The drama will be produced by How Pictures and directed by Lee Chang Min, known for his work on JTBC’s Agency and Netflix’s Cashero.
More details about 40s Romance casting, filming, and release dates are expected soon
