Key Details

Plot

“Pro Bono” follows the story of a brilliant but success-obsessed judge. He lives for efficiency and material rewards until a sudden crisis forces him to abandon his prestigious career and become a public interest lawyer.

Cast and Characters

Jung Kyung Ho stars as Kang David, a former high-profile judge turned public interest lawyer. Once a legal influencer with hundreds of thousands of social media followers who looked up to his flawless career and polished image, David’s life takes an abrupt turn when an unexpected incident derails his promising future.

Jung is known for his breakout roles in popular Kdramas such as “Hospital Playlist,” “Crash Course in Romance,” and “When the Devil Calls Your Name”. The 41-year-old actor will be next seen in “Oh My Ghost Clients” (premiering May 30) and movies “Boss” and “Galatea”.

So Ju Yeon plays Park Gi Ppeum, a public interest lawyer at a non-profit organization “Pro Bono” who is the total opposite of Kang David. Once she gets obsessed with a case, she dives headfirst into the law, becoming a total nerd. She genuinely believes in using the law to defend human rights and push for social justice. Park finds fulfillment not in winning for winning’s sake, but in upholding fair laws and protecting those who rely on them.

So Ju Yeon is known for her roles in “Dr. Romantic” (seasons 2 & 3), “Seasons of Blossom”, “The Midnight Romance in Hagwon”, “A Love So Beautiful”, and more.

Release Date

Meanwhile, “Pro Bono” starring So Ju Yeon and Jung Kyung Ho will be broadcast on tvN in the second half of 2025.
