Jung So Min for Dazed Korea

Jung So-min is pressing pause on new projects for the rest of 2024, opting for a well-deserved break after charming audiences in ‘Love Next Door’.

The 35-year-old Kdrama darling plans to refocus and recharge in the upcoming months after working hard this year.

During an interview on October 8, she opened up about doing one project per year and taking a long break recently before returning with “Love Next Door.”

Jung So Min shared, “I took exactly 11 months off, although I participated in promotional activities for my previous work, I didn’t act for 11 months. During that time, I personally filled many aspects of my life. I traveled, spent quality time with my family, and focused on healing and filling the empty spaces in my daily life.”

She opened up about signing her next project, saying, “I’m looking at scripts for my next work. I don’t have any special plans during my break. I’ve come to realize that when I take time off, I don’t force myself to create something. I feel like I worked hard this year, and finding balance helped me avoid burnout.”

“Love Next Door”, which concluded on October 6, follows the complex reunion of Choi Seung Hyo (Jung Hae In) and Bae Seok Ryu (Jung So Min), childhood friends turned star-crossed lovers, as they navigate their troubled pasts and rekindle a passionate romance.

Their chemistry was so convincing in the drama that many believed that they were dating in real life, however, Jung Hae In and Jung So Min have denied the dating rumors.
